KateKempParticipant
is the promised land actually within us more than an actual
physical land to occupy?KateKempParticipantI understand and agree with most – those I don’t understand are:
(19) you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; nor shall you put on a garment made of two different materials.
(23) When you come into the land and plant all kinds of trees for food, then you shall regard their fruit as forbidden;* for three years it shall be forbidden* to you; it must not be eaten. 24In the fourth year all their fruit shall be set apart for rejoicing in the Lord. 25But in the fifth year you may eat of their fruit, that their yield may be increased for you: I am the Lord your God.
27You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard.
KateKempParticipantI didn’t know too much about Day of Atonement / Yom Kippur & symbolism
– this weblink helped https://lifehopeandtruth.com/life/plan-of-salvation/day-of-atonement/leviticus-16/KateKempParticipanta clear distinction between those who are good & those who are evil ? between these I think is a gap with grace, forgiveness & love.
KateKempParticipantby walking away from God I may harbour anguish, bitterness, – I certainly feel less peaceful! The Lord’s prayer & gratitude & daily prayer helps me stay closer to God
KateKempParticipantI pray we connect with the holy spirit & serve – I pray that our leaders are servant leaders
KateKempParticipantwhich is more important – to have a relationship with God in church & our own private prayer time OR in the real world amongst people in our everyday lives -I think both are equally important & make our relationship whole. For me the second is harder …. This reading is very helpful to prompt me.
KateKempParticipantJesus ❤️
KateKempParticipantHe will not cry or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street;
a bruised reed he will not break,
and a dimly burning wick he will not quench;
he will faithfully bring forth justice.
He will not grow faint or be crushed
until he has established justice in the earth;KateKempParticipantAre there occasions when apparently the impossible happens?
YES! most definitely – humans can be amazing and if LOVE is at the centre and a strong will the seemingly impossible can happen – history has surely shown this. Reconciliations. How do we make LOVE the centre – most probably through reflection & prayer .
KateKempParticipantreassuring that there is a very strong message that God forgives. Again time in prayer helps (me) become closer to God.
KateKempParticipantis it up to us to create a new beginning – through forgiveness, mercy, love …humility . The holy spirit / God is in us and can be present in our actions / behaviour – in our heart if we let God in / out?
KateKempParticipantspending time in pray with God + love + courage
KateKempParticipant13. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, 14. I will let you find me, says the Lord,
KateKempParticipantYes people today who speak the truth can be at risk if the person/ people in power do not like what they hear. Currently the election of a new conservative leader in the UK is taking place (July ‘22) to replace Boris Johnson – early stages and voting by MPs but it takes courage of the candidates to be honest / serve and not all politicians like such comments & will not vote for those candidates… but maybe the people/ electorate can support them ?
as they want honesty even if the people in power do not -
